National Academy of Sciences welcomes Emery Brown

The Martinos Center's Emery Brown, MD, PhD, has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences. A private, nonprofit institution established under a congressional charter signed by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, the National Academy of Sciences advises the federal government and other organizations on science, technology and health policy.
New members are elected annually by current members in recognition of their distinguished and continuing achievements in original research. Membership is is considered one of the highest honors a scientist can receive.
