Biosketch
We are currently working on advancing the cellular level understanding of how transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) activates neurons in the cerebellar cortex. This work is funded by the NIH Brain Initiative. We use electrophysiology measurements in the cerebellar cortex in vitro as well as computational modeling of the induced electric fields in the tissue. These experiments and computational models will ultimately help optimize TMS modulation of cerebellar areas in humans.
